MAHAT
STONER ROCK
GERMANY

This Stuttgart based 4 piece stoner constellation called Mahat release their LP „Looking for a ride“.

This 12 song construct wants to call desertscapes and whiskey soaked, sun-dried highways it's home.

„Atacama“, the opener starts rolling and groovin' in a pretty direct way. Easy structures for easy listening. Maybe this refrain is played a bit too long but it flows.

„Looking for a ride“ the self titled track of the album. Some nice, nasty blues rock riffs and even the voice is ok.
„Role model education“isn't that kind of outstanding. A solid track pretty much focused on vocals and that's what i don't like that much. Comparable to tons of other stuff unfortunately.

„Solitude“ sadly continues what started a song earlier. Too much voice and a bit too melodical for my kind of taste. The riffs changing a lot from quite cool stuff to non-innovative 3 chord punk manner.

„Desert Night“. This one is actually pretty cool. Nice acoustic orientaded guitar track.

„Rewind“ really not my style. Sounds a bit insincere to me,I mean it isn't that bad but also not that cool. I'm missing somekind of an own style.
„Skulls 'n bitches“ is probably the best song of this average record. Fast powerful riffin'...ok, the voice could be reducedfrom loudness (at the whole album) but the rest is ok. Breaking through the average and find it's way to the favorite track of this record.

„Lost“. To be serious i don't like this one but always remember music is subjective so maybe you dig it. Who knows.

There are 4 tracks left. Same manner. Identical structures. Not bad but the peak was done with Skulls 'n bitches. Stays solid but not above average sound pleasures.

OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US
DOOM/SLUDGE/HEAVY PROG
AUSTRIA

You literally had to expect something extraordinary as well as impressive from this band from Salzburg/Austria and even people who are not in the know (yet) should quickly be made rejoice with excitement by this exalted showcase of musical extremes. OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US sits comfortably between the chairs and especially through this fact they create a mood that other bands often lack completely. Intense Spiritual Music is the label that was chosen by OSDOU themselves. There are tons of bands on this globe that are easier to discribe than OUR SURVIVAL DEPENDS ON US are, one who spends his time with Sludge/Core bands such as NEUROSIS, CROWBAR, ISIS, CULT OF LUNA or also older SLEEP is likely to enjoy this. Despite all this these bands and the comparisons connected to them are not completely exact.
Also, only a few will remember the first tries of OSDOU in form of the 2 track EP Breathe from 2000, and as you can easily imagine, a lot has changed since then, which is partly due to the logical development but which can traced back to the changed line-up on the other hand. Apart from guitarist, vocalist and founding member Mucho (ex-SOULSEARCH/MY MIDNIGHT
SUN) you will find to other SOULSEARCH heroes in the lines of OSDOU. After the split of the Doom Metal institution from Austria, Thom
(guitars/vocals) and Hajot (samples/noise) have found a much more appropriate home. Eventually the team is completed by drummer Mani and bassist barth who is known from BELPHEGOR. It is almost scary how homogenously this quintet works.
Wonderful acoustic sounds, pitch-black sound samples, minimum acoustically and the mourning and conjuring vocals of the two singers. The seamless change between the single vocal parts is exemplary and extraordinary.
Rage, sadness, bitterness, suffering and hate are only a part of the emotions that are processed and thus channelled with OSDOU. Besides mighty slow motion guitar walls roll out of the speakers, so that you are hammered into the ground without warning and try in vane to escape this force. The tribal-like drumming, which disappears into the background time and again, unresistingly pulls you deeper and deeper into the dark abyss and thus into the world of OSDOU.
OSDOU set an unignorable sign that can also convince completely sound-wise and should not leave anything to be desired even for pampered ears.
Furthermore another, quite daring decision makes OSDOU unique, as theirrecords will also be released as a vinyl version (in coloured vinyl), perfectly demonstrating the inner closeness to the old-fashioned record.

"Finally a band appears with a dirty, bloody and muddy face...OSDOU makes the perfect mix of hard sludge, slow doom and atmospheric post rock. Like a sledgehammer they pull out their massive riffs and build an exciting and melancholic mood. Driven by the sick society of our world, pregnant by nature and high on roots of the occult and true music. To the band it is very important to form a unit which can be heard in every song!. Texts to think and melodies to relax are on the agenda. "Painful stories told with a passion for life" is a brilliant example of the band and brings a full spectrum on dark heavy tunes for every one. Groove your hairy heads to this fat grooves of austrias next super wizards, because it's so fucking good for you!!!"!!!"

DOCTOR CYCLOPS
STONER ROCK/HARD ROCK
ITALY

Doctor Cyclops is a seventies-style power trio playing heavy rock music inspired by a vintage sound, eldest son of glorious Balck Sabbath and of other more underground heroes from the 70ies and early 80ies such as Truth and janey, Sir Lord Baltimore, Captain Beyond, Witchfinder General. Even later and more modern references are warm-vintage style ones: Witchcraft, Firebird, Cathedral, Spiritual Beggars just to say some.

The project was born in 2007 in Oltrepo in a small village called Bosmenso, in the middle of the Appennino mountains. A place where winters are long and quite often really cold. Former members are Christian Draghi (guitar and vocals) and Francesco Filippini (bass), childhood friends who try to push by with their passionated love for music and good riffs.

Doctor Cyclops’ music is an obscure kind of heavy old style rock, its groove made by a miscellanous heap mix of influences, which go from the progressive to the doom stuff played with a raw and dusty wish.

"Here‘s a new record of the weird and funny stoner band "Doctor Cyclops!Awesome and varied riffs as well as a dark occult atmosphere will await you! The strange album artwork fits to the music like a fist in a face and also the booklet has some really cool pictures in it - I wonder if there’s also a story behind this mind blowing art. The songs are very colourful and invite you to a grooveful and rythmic mood. The jam character of some songs are really cool, including all the great solos and licks. They again proof a solid and heavy world of good italian heavy/psych rock straight through your living room. Listening to them will definitely be worth your time!"

BRUNT
ITALY
Stoner/Psych Rock

"Lofty riffs floating amongst fluffy clouds pour bursts of flavor creating the ultimate iTunes visualizer. Fluorescent atmosphere combines with 50 shades of groove to bring faith back into the power of instrumental stoner rock. Apt comparisons cannot be denied ranking along the lines of Karma to Burn.

Almost tribal like drum blasts intensify the already psychedelic vibe. Feeling of rapture levitating the mind into a whirlwind of excitement. Soaring amongst the highest kites, Brunt electrify the auditory senses with riff after riff and groove after groove.

"Brunt do not only have a graphic artist who does a great job concerning their cover and promotion, they also function as a ingenious instrumental band with a cool jam atmosphere. I like the beginnings of the songs a lot which are very innovative and then turn into the main groove. The solos gave the instrumental music a content and so the guys always guarantee fresh input. Boredom is definitely not to hear, the whole album comes groovy and fat...thumbs up again for another great band from Italy."

UNIVERSE 217
Greece
Funeral Doom

Universe217 is one of the most vibrant heavy acts in Greece nowadays, with lots of gigs across the country and steadily frequent record releases.
The down-tempo music style marks the spot where doom metal meets influences derived from more experimental or melodic forms of the rock sound spectrum, sometimes leading even to sonic outbursts which ignore the rules about perfect musicianship.
If you combine this characteristic with the dynamic voice of singer Tanya (she is one of the best female rock singers in Greece, and in this album she sounds more mature and flexible than ever before), you get a result where the band’s sound is just the vehicle by which the listener experiences an atmosphere where he is “forced” to face uncomfortable emotional states, like when things are getting out of hand, when all control is lost, and the expectation of an ecstatic delirium seems to be the only way out.

get it here

"Univers 217 tell us some thrilling, spooky and dramatic stories with their new album "Never". It is a mix made out of Funeral Doom and Doom Metal, as well they really got me under their spell – a heavier alternative to the band Blues Pills with woman vocals or similar like Alunah, Jex Toth, Witch Mountain. The mood of this album is very atmospheric and roomfull, the song structures are not really diversified but that's not really a problem because the album works great. Lend them an ear and maybe you choose the option to order your own LP Special Edition!!"

Jagged Vision
Stoner Metal/Hardcore
Norway
Rising from the west coast of Norway comes Jagged Vision. Embracing the rawness of 90s hardcore and combining it with the heavy riffing of stoner rock, Jagged Vision has set out to destroy. Since their start in 2010, there has been no genre limitations, no rules, and no boundaries. Jagged Vision is a product of raw heavy emotion which is what they try to communicate through their songs and live performances. Their debut album Harvest Earth was recorded at The Jam Room Recording Studio in Columbia, S.C. and was produced by Kylesa’s Phillip Cope. Harvest Earth is Retro Futurist’s second release, slated to come out in February, 2014.
Sharing stage with bands like Kvelertak, Purified in Blood, Orange Goblin and many more, Jagged Vision was named “a band to watch” by Metal hammer Norway, and “band of the week on one of Norway’s bigger radio stations, NRK P3.

"On the last European Tour of Kylesa these guys gave me a album to review it...until now it never happened. I can remember that Jagged Vision brought some new wind in the scene of sludge, stoner metal and also the members of Kylesa(founder of Retro Futurist Records) are confident. With their touch of hardcore metal and a cool and pressure show they could convince me. The album has been about one month in my car, accompanying me on my way, and i have to say at the beginning it was rather strange but in the end, it has convinced me.. That's truly really good shit!!"

Interview with Hubert(Vocals, different other instruments)

How did you get the name „GO BANANAS“ and which goals do you personally pursue concerning the band?
Go Bananas means to get crazy, to lose your mind just like you have been bitten by a wild monkey. When we were making up our minds to find a good and fitting band name, we asked ourselves one What does it mean to us to make music?
The result was very clear: Music means to relax and just to lay down without obeying to any social rules. To cut a long story short, just to do whatever pops up in your mind, get rid of all the unimportant things in life and to listen to your inner inspiration!

How do most of your songs come to life?Do you have any precederues you keep to?
Mostly we get our songs out of jam sessions but also out of preconceived song structures, which have been developed by both of our guitarists, Woife and Aki. However, we do try to include influences of all our band members in order to get the right flow which satisfies the whole band.

What are your engines, your concepts, what do you stand for with your music?
For me, honest and handmade produced music always was one of the most important things. Music is part in every situation of my life, meaning that it does not only help me to deal with all the difficulties in it, but is also a welcoming guest which accamponies the good days in life. Therfore the most horrific thing to do would be living a life without music! Benefiting from the newest techniques and possibilities to produce music these days is kind of an engine enough to leave behind our own musical footprint.

How did the first tour go?
It was a long awaited and very funny life experience which definitely none of us wants to miss! We got to meet crazy and extremely hospitable people, all of them being unique and supporting the underground music. We have to say that we are very thankful for this great tour and want to express our gratitude once again to everybody who helped us getting through our tour, even though we did not have any contracts, label or managers.

What are the most important things to take with you whilst touring?
Name at least 3. First of all a whole lot of sound, a whole lot of light and a lot more of fun!

What was your first CD you have ever bought?
You definitely do not want to know that. At that time I was very young and therefore extremely dumb, also I had next to nothing. (My taste in music is not the same anymore, and I also grew older but that is all that has changed up to now) Name 3 of your favorite bands. For me, it is very difficult to do that, as there are so many great bands and my personal taste changes every now and then. There are bands which I do not listen to in years, and suddenly once again in continuous repetition. However, I would list the all time godfathers BLACK SABBATH on the first place, followed by Monkey3, Sleeping Karma and Space Collective. I know that I have named four bands, but in my opinion three are way too few. At last I want to mention that you should enjoy every band on Vinyl or if possible even live!
Do you have any rehearsal rituals?
Not really. Of course it is important to just get into a chilly mood, eat a few bites of whatever you like, forget about your jobs and problems and meet up with a bottle of beer or a glass of wine. Only when your mind is free, the music can start to unfold! However this is a long process which sometimes can even take up to 2 hours. This is probably the reason why our rehearsals last longer than usual.

What are the future plans of the band?
After having released our second album „Erutan“, which we have recorded all by ourselves, we want to hit the stage again and play as many concerts as possible. The plan is, to make people with our live music happy. If you are interested in any gigs, just write us! We are easy to handle and willing to join every party! Besides, we are looking forward every day to get into our chilly room, in order to write new songs and spend some nice psychedelic evenings in there.

Additional words for the world out there?
Take your time and enjoy the real things worth living in life! Be pleased by the nature and listen to handmade music, escape the stress of our society and support music which comes from the heart.

Lost Moon
Stoner/Psych Rock
Italy

Guest Review from Billy Goate of Doomed & Stoned

Lost Moon is a heavy stoner “tribal” band that originated in the 90’s with brothers Stefano and Pierluigi Paolucci, on guitars/vocals and drums, respectively. At the present review, they are a four-piece joined on bass by Adolfo Calandro, with Francesco Panarese providing percussions. Based in Rome, Italy, ‘Lost Moon’ have put out a number of albums over the years including Lost Moon (2002) and this was followed by ‘King of Dogs’ (2008).Their third record is ‘Tales From The Sun’ (2013), Lost Moon’s first release on the label Ozium Records, and will be the subject of this review. In the future, we can expect a new album later in 2014 on Lost Moon’s new label, Karma Conspiracy Records. Now, on to ‘Tales From the Sun’
(2013).
From the 8-track EP, three of my favorite songs were “Ransom,” “Lay Your Hands Down on Me,” and the title track, “Tales From The Sun.” All of them could achieve mainstream radio play, with a sound that is tight, focused, and pleasingly heavy. Play the title track and several things will jump out and grab you: first, the unusually strong rhythm of the bass/drums (this is where the “tribal” comes in); second, the vocals are pleasantly reminiscent of John Garcia (Vista Chino); third, the guitar whips up a storm of stoner influences from Kyuss to Dozer. This is music you take with you on a road trip or to the gym. Lost Moon’s driving beat, up-tempo guitars, and bright vocals are best appreciated on the go—and if you’re sitting still, you’ll want to be moving when you hear the hard-hitting beat the band has become known for. One other piece of advice: turn it up….LOUD. You can’t appreciate Lost Moon’s ‘Tales From The Sun’ at low volumes!

ETHEREAL RIFFIAN
DOOM/STONER/PSYCH/PROG ROCK
HUNGARY

Ethereal Riffian band was formed in summer of 2010.

After spending several years and trying different musical styles, we have found sonic vibrations that sound in unison with our collective consciousness. Shaman’s Visions, the debut work of Ethereal Riffian, came into existence in 2011 and became the result of this long search.Exactly in a year, the next release Dkyil Khor (Sand Mandala) was added to the band’s discography. The twenty-minute meditational single was written for one of the expositions of the Arsenale-Biennale 2012 exhibition, which was devoted to the transience of time and the search of self.

The second full-length album called Aeonian is the band’s most mature work, which unites all the best talents of its members. The eponimous book merged as a result of our intention to fully disclose the ideas and concepts of this album. While working on the narrative, we realized that from now on books would become an integral part of the band’s creative work, for they let reinforce the images created by the music and inculcate them in the consciousness of our listeners.

The band’s activity has two main objectives: to compose unconventional music, which is able to expand the frames of the listener’s musical perception, and to shed light on the existence of a subtler plane, whose laws if understood properly may help to perceive the reality on a deeper level. In order to achieve the abovementioned goals, we diligently work on each new release. That is exactly why the ones who get acquainted with the creative work of our band need to be very attentive.

We sincerely hope that the message carefully integrated in our music is able to induce our listeners, and now our readers as well, to open up the new facets of existence and kindle the light of their true self, which will not dim even in the darkest nooks of Sheol.

Aeonian" is like a trip to outter space - the space shuttle would be operated with music and the fuel would never run out because this Hungarian dude's know exactly what they do. However, it is clear, that this EP is way better than the first one - it comes with more structure and a direct line.Very good arranged songs with a lot of scenery changes, spherical and roomful atmospheric smooth riffs mixed with echoing melodies, which turn into a breaking wave of hard and thrashing riffs. The whole album is exactly up to my taste and fascinated me.Get your own album of Ethereal Riffian!!

Sierra
Stoner/Prog Rock
Canada

These stoner prog dudes, how they call themselves, come from the rough north. Rough as these canadian guys is also their sound of fuzz-loaded grooving heaviness. So lean back and blow yourself apart with „Pslip“ the first full length track, mixed with some nice stoner as well as doom stuff. First of all great artwork. Casey McKinley, well done! The opener „Pslip in“. A short track which exactly does what it ought to: Increase attention. Fluid transition into „Little Smoke“. Interesting mix between rythm based stoner riffs and atmospheric wide-sound parts.
The voice in between reminded me in a way of some 80's power metal stuff - Pretty heroic character which you also find on some riffs. „Control Folly“ has a great beginning. Especially the second part is really damn cool. Accentuated riffs and cool tempo switches, in between some rolling voice-parts which bring back the stoner vibe. Besides, they also return to this killer-riff at the beginning. Well done! „100“. The First part is really cool but then it gets more slowly and also quieter, which is not everyone's taste. Still, there's this 80's power metal influence.
Nice solo in the middle or maybe more in the end. Oh yeah „Psquigalogz“ starts with some mighty in-your-face-riffing. It's rolling, it sounds pretty damn fat and will encourage you to roll another one. Best song so far. „Into nothing“. Stoner Punk with some heavy mid-tempo riffs which have potential to cause some kind of eargasms. Recognition value on this one.
„Smoke filled room“. The beginning has some post rock elements which are getting destroyed directly afterwards by some evil guitar riffs and some vocals on it. Then it's about returning from those evil-big-balls-style to more melodic stuff and backwards...flowing switches but a bit too melodic for my taste. Finally we get to the longest track. „Pseptember“ An innovative piece of 9 minutes. A nice slow-down track which brings some new stoner/doom characteristics into it. „Pslip out“. A psychedelic instrumental closing track of 2 minutes which ends the record. All in all a great band with it's own style to check out. You can invest your time worse than listening to this.

SHIT THE COW
STONER ROCK/ALTERNATIVE
SWEDEN

Holy Shit!

The band is raised on metal, punk rock and all kinds of distortion but the main inspiration comes from the rusty old truck in Steven Spielberg´s 1971 duel.

The second EP by Swedish scrapyard rockers Shit the Cow called „Salt of the earth“ has just be released. Since last year´s „volume/cow“ the band has recruited two new members: Erik Rosenberg and Robin Lindqvist.

Shit the cow is based in Stockholm but „Salt of the earth“ is recordet in Gula Viljan studio in the small village of Rissna far in the northern woods of Sweden. The recording took place over one intense weekend in the middle of July, interrupted only by a thunder storm and ridiculous amounts of grilled beef.

The first track rolls away like it should be... awesome riffs with a fucked up, but clear voice and nice bass Vibrations let the Stonerhearts beat higher. The Drums pushes the Song to the right way and really inspired me already from the first second.

A pretty cool opener for this EP, and for sure a candy for every Stonerhead.
There is no sample Stuff or something, they let the gasoline directly flow as hard as they can.
And yes they can!
„The Decline of Wester Civilization“ is my favorite track on this record.
The Crew sounds more like american rock, then we, or I'm used to Swedish Stuff.

If you are searching for similar Bands like all the Masterblasters we already know from this Country, this will not be what you expect from Shit the Cow, it is a completly different style.
The second Track is the same scheme but has already this punky touch.
Number three sounds slow deep and hard, with nice riffs and strange melodies, dirty Vocals fuck up the Track the right way.

The last Track is completly different and should show that punk is not dead i think.
It is a brew of the sound they still have with more punk or ska influences.
All Tracks have this punk touch, but this one seems to be an omage on punk.
The whole EP sounds garage rock like, not even my taste, but on the other hand like good old punk core stuff mixed up with a fist full of Stoner Stuff.

The EP is really short and hard to describe and / or evaluate for me. I really like the first Track, if every track would burn like this, i would love this baby and the score would be much higher, but there is too much punk in the other Songs for me.

But for sure it is every time a question of taste, so check em out!

BURNING FULL THROTTLE

STONER ROCK
HUNGARY

This dirty, garage rock band was founded in 2005 in a basement in Kőbánya, Budapest, Hungary. After some gigs the band had the chance to show the smell of burning tire in Germany, but even this tour was not enough to hold the band together and they closed the door of their basement for some time. Since 2010 the band has been very active, which led to their album in november 2013 called ’No Man’s Land’. Béla Badarász, who played the rythm guitar on the album has left after the recording and was replaced by the former Düne guitarist/vocalist Csaba Mundi.

"Southern driven mood a raw whiskey voice and motor oil in the veins mark the Hungarian wild boars as a band. If you like bands like "UGH!", "Clutch", "Tyrant Lizard King" or "Hezzakaya" you also will like the sound of "BURNING FULL THROTTLE"
The whole album has a quit good sound quality and works by mixing well with the music direction. Song's like "The Flight", "Hellhound", "No sleep till Mexico" and "336"(My favorite song on this album) shows the best side of the band. Not each song took me but at least the half album is really nice.

IRON WALLRUS

DOOM/SLUDGE/NOISE

FRISCH aber DEFTIG!!
IRON WALRUS ist ein fleischgewordenes Doom/Sludge/Rock- Monster mit NoiseElementen.
Bands wie ST.VITUS, UNSANE, EYEHATEGOD, GOATSNAKE aber auch HELMET oder QUICKSAND standen hier eindeutig Pate.
Brutales Riffing, krachende Basshooks, treibendes Drumming, wütendes Shouting. Das sind IRON WALRUS.
Wer die Burschen live erlebt hat, geht in jedem Fall mit einem diabolischen Grinsen im Gesicht nach Hause!
Erst im Mai 2013 formierte sich die Gruppe aus Mitgliedern von
DAMPFMASCHINE, BROTHER LOVE KAIN, AGGRESSIVE AGE, ATOMIC PEAT, PANZERHÖLLE & GOOD WITCH OF THE SOUTH

WISDOOM

DOOM/SLUDGE
HEAVY PSYCH SOUNDS

The Wisdoom is a heavy psych sludge band based in Rome (Italy) and formed at the end of 2010 by Dario Iocca, Francesco Pucci and after joined by Luigi Costanzo and Daniele Neri.

In June 2011 the band released their first self-title EP that received enthusiastic feedbacks from the critics and audiences, so much that the song “Katabasis” has been selected to be part of the soundtrack of the movie “Paura” by the italian masters of explotations films Manetti Bros.
They are now going to release for the label Heavy Psych Sounds Records: “Hypothalamus”, their first full length with 4 brand new songs for 45 minutes of pure ecstatic violence through a desperate and lysergic trip over sleep phases. "Hypothalamus" is mixed and mastered by Lorenzo Stecconi (who worked with Ufomammut, The Secret and his band Lento)
The Wisdoom have also shared the stage with world renowned bands such as Orange Goblin, Eyehategod, Hate, Peter Pan Speedrock, and taking part in festivals like Duna Jam, Stoned Hand Of Doom and Acid Fest.

""THE WISDOOM" is a down tuned pressure surfing band with a traditional italian doom attitude like Ufomammut or Lento. I didn’t expect the good sound quality, however thanks to Lorenzo Stecconis skills it comes fat like a wall. Speaking of their music, it hasn’t really surpised me as it is nothing new in the world of doom, but it definitely has function and is well structured, therefore I like what I hear.

The spooky and echoing voice comes to the right point and gives you a roomful feeling. The permanent up and downs of the songs are pleasant to listen to, but sometimes it makes it hard to follow the whole song cause of the riff repetitions. If you like riff orianted Doom and Sludge with some space parts you will like "Hypothalamus" too, its full of power and dark energy. After their first bigger shows(Desert Fest Berlin; Stoned Hand of Doom) I'm curious what will happen in the future. Thumb up for this new and fresh band!""

BLACK SPACE RIDERS
PSYCH ROCK/SPACE ROCK
GERMANY

Giving gravitation since MMVIII !

In the fading last winter nights of 2008 JE, SLI, SAQ and CRIP entered a musty and moldy basement for the first time together: The plan was simple: Jamming ... loud and heavy, rediscovering that nearly lost feeling of getting impassioned by a pushing, pulling, droning and moving wall of self-created sound. It worked! In 2010 the self-titled debut-album was released. "Black Space Riders" triggered enthusiastic reviews around the globe and the band played a run of sweaty shows in Europe. In 2012 the band released it´s second album "Light is the new black". It showed even more influences and variety than the debut and brought the band many new followers around the globe. The following shows in 2012/13 featured a new band-member: SEB, who had contributed additional background-vocals to "Light is the new black" was presented as a second lead-vocalist.Now "D:REI" has finally arrived! On the new opus BLACK SPACE RIDERS are even more colorful, louder, softer, harder, atmospheric, gripping, and above all exalted!

It´s a pleasure and honor to make a review about this masterpiece. I loved all releases, especially the second Album. This one is better or even on the same level and that's really hard to manage, making a record "ban the Fan". In my opinion I have to say that I like their second work "Creature of No Light (Exodus, Pt. 1)" more, because it is more DOOMY but still on the same Level or even HIGHER when we're talking about effects, mixing and mastering.

The first song comes with a smooth intro and some vocal samples for about two minutes and !THEN! fasten up your seatbelts! A great Riff rings the bell and a sound like Hammond organ kicks the whole thing. After that you can hear great doubled guitar fill ins like we know it from Iron Maiden, but not really long till the next riff rocks on. And that's the way we like it! The drums make an awesome tune curtain over it, and the bass is really fat. What i really like. Ouhhh yeah and in this track I love the chorus as well.

Boom Shankar! Time for the second track. Very fat dirty,-down tuned guitars and bass growling away from the first second. Tribe Metal comes into my mind. Very cool percussion's and a huge variety of voices. The refrain sometimes reminds me of good old Sepultura times but in a different way. They combine their good old Style with some power Metal and Tribe percussion stuff and it works Boooombastic!

Now we “Rising from the ashes of our world”. Hard to get up. It starts slow, depp and hard with clean voices till they shout the whole crowd up. Again the doubled Guitars which comes more often in this record and they are stunning!. It is one of the “slower” chill out tracks on the Album, but still like a hammer at the end. A nice Solo rounds it up, I really like the lyrics. Before this baby ends, they start again the engine and then there is one of my favorite parts on the whole album. Be surprised! Now it gets a little bit more psychedelic. Track four sounds like a good old stoner song with some weird vocals and oriental grooves. A simple riff structure that kicks our asses. The almighty Riff combined with some tribe percussion's, well placed and arranged, brings the whole brew to boil.

Now the time has come for some fat Drum and Bass sounds with great clean vocal parts. In “Way To Me” they are leading but still let the genius break through with cool guitar fill ins and solos.

Nr. 6 shakes our brains with some vibrato vibes and the drums builds up a damn good stoner sound framework for the end, after about one minute. This is one of those typical old school stoner rock tracks on this baby in my opinion.

“The GOD survivor” comes along with a flanger and surprise with a genre untypical vocal structure. Sounds a little bit like good old Crossover or something. The whole mixing and mastering with all effects is well done and clearly audible in this Song. From slow chill-out parts to oriental licks, up to aggressive vocal parts is all in there. And again those awesome doubled guitar parts. can´t get enough of 'em.

The next Track let us relax a little bit with nice drums and percussion. Delayed guitars let us fly away to a place where we´re stonerheads can stay. A smooth chill out track with some clean reefer stuff.

Track Nr. 9, “Leave” is one of those oriental “turn on, tune in, drop out” tracks with strange vocals and tempts to let you lead from the sound curtain. After the "Acid part" a almighty riff pushes the “on” button and then it gets harder and has some kind of earworm factor.

Now we come to the longest Track on D:REI: Space Angel (Memitim) with a time range of about 10 minutes. The Space Angel begins smooth and psychedelic with a great phased guitar riff and the right effect. It is for sure the “trip track” of this omament. Echoes from voice samples crawl into our ears to place a earworm. Good guitar melodies gives this track the right spice and fills those ten minutes with lots of good vibrations.

Three tracks left and i already love the Album at first sight. After about 100 scrobbles it gets better and better, like it should be for a good Album. “Major Tom waits” remembers a little bit on this "tito and tarantula" sound or “Rumble”. But for sure completely different and a more doomy.

After some doom the “Letter to a young one” rings the bell before the last track starts. A little bit ska like riffing and funky fresh invite to jump as HIGH as you can before a fat bulldozer destroys everything for a better tomorrow.
Ok last but not least it gets doomy again with “The everlasting circle of infinity”. The Drums and Bass is really nice arranged here and build up a stage for a slow motion doom Track. But before they let us go a power metal like scream starts the engine again and leads in the right end for this masterpiece

HASHBREATH
DOOM/SLUDGE
SWEDEN

I couldn`t find any infos from the band on the web but i think it's once again a weed orientated band who makes disturbing music. Do you have a problem with that? then stop reading immediately! You like it hard and dirty? So you will definitely like  Hashbreath. They come with a rad sound and heavy riffs, especially for fans of Weedeater, Eyehategod, Buzzoven or Dopethrone this band will have some very interesting moments for you!!! At first i have to say that i really enjoyed it to review this band with a cassette, it was not easy because i had to buy a cassette deck to listen through it but it was worth. On the one hand, listen to the tape and on the other hand I finally came back to the roots with tapes...I would have never thought of ever owning such a thing again. Back to the Review and now let's start with the song's:
"The Big Chill" is a great opener and fits perfectly to introduce the band.
Blues mood filled riffs with a driving drum and bass line.
The text does nothing to the point because it is sung completely incomprehensible, i also don't speak any Nordic language so I can`t understand the sample files...but that's ok because it's music with expression and energy.
"Hashbreath" will bring you also to a nice mood. It's slow and sagging and it always keeps the groove.
If you had a bad working day it's a good song to cool down your mind and relax yourself.
"Goosebuds" grows slowly up to an instrumental doom hymn, i love this song! Very nice sabbatical riffs with a traditional head shaking tempo.
Sad but true "Black Voodoo Drug Lord" is the last song and refers to the song before.
At 01:35 the vocal storm sounds for the last time and the flogging drums do their best til the song ends.
Thank you for this intensive minutes of good music, the funny samples at the end fit perfectly to an interesting end of the tape.

SENDELICA
Psychedelic Prog /Stoner/SPace Rock
UNITED KINGDOM

Wanna flow through spicy space? Then check this out!

These 6 psych-heads send your mind into outtaspace and beyond by creating some meditative psychedelic high-class stuff...
Space rock at it's finest.
Their newest record called „The fabled voyages of the Sendelicans“ include 6 songs.

With „Standing on the edge“ they warp you into their orbit.
A Heavy guitar riff combined with hypnotic effects and some mid-tempo drumming.
After this one you'll be pretty hyped for some more to come.

„Manhole of the universe“. 11min Masterpiece. Reminds me of a rough version of Samsara Blues Experiment or even a space-rock version of Tia Carrera mixed with some White Hills.
Updiving from endless delay-riffing they get into a groovy, slow kraut jam. Improving their outtaspace character by getting quiter and shortly more effect-accentuated just before setting up a solid psych-fuzz-wall again. Coolness and highness factor at least 9/10.

„ZHYLY BYLY“. Way more electronical and a bit comparable to some slower Ozric Tentacles parts. Get lost in endless space-fogs.
„Screaming and streaming into the starlit nite“. Lee Relfe on sax. Really nice harmonics for some lonely midnight milky way cruising or some sky picknicks.
„Carningli (Hill of angels)“. This one's more into ambient creating atmospheric dreamscapes.
And the last one „Spaceman bubblegum“. Ready to shake your hips? Groovy as hell. Here they come back to their distinctive mix of experimental-, psychedelic- space rock.

 EVIL CAN EVIL
STONER ROCK
CANADA

Blues filtered through a 1970s' distortion, with a hint of 1960s' rock. A voice full of blues and smoke. Drums that smash the permafrost. A bass that moves snowdrifts. Guitars that lash stronger than a boreal wind. The strength of the North, with the soul of blues and the energy of rock. Evil Can Evil, the nordic rock's ambassadors.

Evil Can Evil is a Quebec City quartet founded in 2007. The band is made up of: Jee , vocalist and guitarist, ; Math, drummer, Manuel bassist and Seb, rhythm guitar. After spending months at the 46th parallel chiseling its music, Evil Can Evil is now launching its first record, a self-titled work.

Entirely recorded in analog mode by the band, mixed and mastered by Audiobec, Evil Can Evil offers 13 tracks of nordic rock, pure as the Arctic Ocean's water. Through stories of dangerous women, broken heart, identity crises, marks loss, territorial dispossession and courageous snow plows, Evil Can Evil builds a universe breathing a new life into the tired stoner rock genre. Stoner rock is dead, hail nordic rock. If Evil Can Evil doesn't make you want to dance, then you're more frozen than a mammoth prisoner of the Siberian soil.

"EVIL CAN EVIL"is a traditional driving Stoner Rock band who knows how to write grooveful songs. Hot asphalt and endless wide deserts, do you think so? It's more like cold and icey streets, leafless trees and white fields: "Winter Rider" is the name of this album. The canadian power group do their jobs well, however the album contains mostly blues oriented riffs. The whole appearance convinces with sophisticated structures in their material. 12 songs are telling different things about a daily life, also some love songs for the stonergirls and romantic people are included. I wish a lot of fun while listening to this piece of art!"

Eddie Brnabic & The Cosmic Fellowship
Stoner Rock/Experimental Psych Rock
USA

The multi instrumentalist Brnabic and The Cosmic Fellowship from L.A. released this new record called „Subtle Realms“ in december 2013.
After the short intro „Voice of the spirits“, some kind of native folk, they come up with „Transcendental wine“. Guitar power directly in your face. Heavy beginning, then a bit more gently psychedelic melodies before getting back into fuzzy guitar stuff. Getting back and forth. Heavy, psych, some funk elements and so on.

„Throne of saturn“. Jazzy beginning interrupted by a cosmic stoner part with great guitar riffin'.
Back to jazz drumming enriched with a floating psychedelic guitar.
„Still...Tripping through time“. A fuzzy jam through timeless galaxies. 6 min of brilliant guitar soli which find their way back into some massive stoner giants. Pretty well structured stuff.
„Pearl“ got this typical summer vibe á la Causa Sui in it. Nice melodies, especially the keys.
It's getting groovy with „Moongroove“. Gregos Majda probably ate some green nuggets for breakfast.
However great bass line. And also Steven Rubio (drums) as well as Dario Lapoma (keys) should be mentioned in here. About the mind-blowing guitar playing of Eddie Brnabic i already said enough so let's go further to „Waves“. Pure heavyness again. Lean back and smoke some if you haven't already done so!
Back to 70's grooves with „Riff mountain“. Nice title, nice song. In the end it turns to some stoner riffin' which is everything else than average. The sound is fucking perfect. Punchy, fat and powerful.

Last song „Death and resurrection“ starts a bit oriental before getting back into some harmonical psychedelic floatings.
In case you got the 7 bucks left, it's worth to spend it on this record. Click on the bandcamp link  and convince yourself.

 CHRON GOBLIN
STONER ROCK/HEAVY ROCK
CANADA

From the smoke-filled rooms of university to beer-stained stages across western Canada and abroad, Chron Goblin have been spreading the stoke wherever they go. Filling bars and venues alike since their 2009 inception, the party-hardened four-piece have amassed a loyal fan base with their addictive on-stage energy as well as two intoxicating rock concoctions: a self-titled EP in 2010 and 2011’s acclaimed full-length One Million From The Top.

Since then, the band has proved their well-earned notoriety with by landing gigs with some of the biggest names in heavy music, including Vista Chino (ex-Kyuss), Orange Goblin, Weedeater, Black Pussy, 3 Inches of Blood, Bison B.C., and The Devin Townsend Project. In the spring of 2013, their talents won them the coveted contest-spot at Desertfest London, making them the first Canadians to grace the stage of the sought-after stoner-rock gold Camden festival.

This demand stems in no small part from Chron Goblin’s artful, yet accessible blend of influences ranging from riff-rock to rockabilly, Sabbath to Stray Cats. With no style-boundaries to bind them, the group avoids self-imposed stagnancy and embrace evolution.

"Late after other great reviews but also my right to say that this band is awesome, I know this for weeks but I can't find time to write it down here. Now my time has come to do this. This Canadian formation of a heavy Stoner rock band with the real rock attitude has created their own mix of excellentand high quality music. I don't want to repeat the other reviewers so I will keep it short. Chron Goblins debut album kicks ass and have create a place in our music lovers' hearts. Songs like "Control, Live for the Living, Lonely Prey or Give No More" show us the musicians from their best side. A new great band is born, beware."
